1 middle vs. 2 (or more?!)

Until I joined this site, it never occurred to me that more than one middle was a real option. I have only one, and most of the people I grew up/went to grade school with have one--a few don't have any at all.

I'm curious as to why my fellow Berries select/would select a particular number of middles for their children. (For me, it's a matter of custom, I suppose, since I've stuck with just the one for #1 and will do the same for #2.)

    So...insights?

I thought the same thing when I first joined. I've been thinking about 2 middles for boys, not girls. I feel that most girls will use their maiden name as a middle in a way. Like, in reference to DOOL, Sami's full name currently is Samantha Brady Hernandez, Brady being her maiden name.

As for boys, there are certain people I want to honor and it would involve giving the child more than one middle name.

It's just a person's reference if you ask me.

I'm stuck on two middles now, even though I have only one. I started out resenting the idea of two middles - it seemed like An excuse to cram in more names. But now that I've delved into them I like how they fit together. And yes, I do enjoy being able to use more of my favorite names. I live in the US also, and actually I do know someone with two middles. However, by the time I have kids, I may just stick to one middle.

Sorry I rambled a bit. I guess the reason I go for two is because its an opportunity to use more names and make more daring combos. (In the middle I usually like to have one classic choice and one more surprising name to give it some spark)

It's the same here. Since I joined, I've been seeing A LOT of double middles, but nothing over two. Thankfully. Since making my account here, I've been considering using two middle names, but I need to learn the technique. If there is a technique lol. I don't want to over do it with names though or make it too much. Like Brenner Alexander James. Does that even look right?

I can certainly see the appeal of the double middle for name nerds! I might have been tempted to do it had the process of choosing just a first and one middle not been so stressful for me. More power to you if you're up to the challenge
