Most of my favourite childhood shows have been covered, but there's a few that haven't.

I don't know if it was screened anywhere else, but there was this show in the early 2000s in the UK called Shoebox Zoo which I loved, and it had some brilliant names.

    Edwin
    Bruno
    Ailsa
    Wolfgang
    Marnie
    Michael
    Aurora
    Hunter
    Kyle
    Nathaniel
    Ross

and the other characters went by their surnames. I'm pretty use that show's where my love for the names Bruno and Marnie came from.

The other one I liked that was on around a similar time was called Jeopardy, about some teenage Scottish schoolkids in the Australian outback.

    Harry
    Lucy
    Simon
    Chrissie
    Leon
    Shona
    David
    Sarah
    Gerry - the teacher
    Helen
    Melissa

And finally The Sleepover Club - I loved the books but was a bit disappointed by the TV series changing the setting from the UK to Australia, though it was still good.

    Francesca "Frankie"
    Rosalind "Rosie"
    Felicity "Fliss"
Kendra "Kenny" - in the books she was nicknamed Kenny from her surname McKenzie
    Lyndsay "Lyndz"
    Matthew
    Marco
    Michael
    Sara
    Alana

The second series (which was awful) focused on Frankie's cousin and her friends:

    Charlotte "Charlie"
    Madeline "Maddy"
    Tayla
    Brooke
    Jessica "Jess"
    Jason
    Simon
    Declan
    Krystal
    Caitlin

    Anna Katherine * Lydia Ellen * Zoe Madeleine * Phoebe ___ * Imogen ___ * Emilia ___
    Samuel * Thomas * Charlie * Reuben * Oliver * George

Gosh, how did I miss this thread?!

I have the Clangers and Bagpuss on DVD and still watch them Soup Dragon and Professor Yaffle wouldn't make great names though.

I was also majorly obsessed with Pokemon and The Sleepover Club when I was young *cringe*. I reckon my naming style now most closely resembles Thomas the Tank (which I also loved). So many lovely classics- Thomas, Edward, James, Henry...

Other old faves (yeahhh sorry if they've already been mentioned. I only flicked through PPs quickly):

The Worst Witch - Mildred, Maud, Enid, Ethel
Recess - TJ, Gretchen, Vince, Gus, Spinelli (what was her real name?!), Mikey
    Rosie & Jim
Fireman Sam - Sam, Elvis, Penny, Dilys, Sarah & James, Norman
Wild Thornberries - Eliza (♥), Debbie, Darwin, Nigel, Donnie
    Babar - Alexander, Arthur, Flora
Tots TV - Tilly, Tom & Tiny

Honourable mention to Titch, Pingu, The Wombles and Mr Benn- none of which have any usable names

Eee! All of these ^_^ Ah memories. I still heart the Soup Dragon.

Regarding Recess, her real name was Ashley. She should have been Ashley S
