I love it! When I hear "Briar" I think of the character in the "Circle of Magic" children's series by Tamora Pierce--a very tough, cool boy. The name also comes with the nickname "Bri" which I love.

Ditto this. I love Tamora Pierce's character names! Always so apt.

It's like Brian with an R. Totally usable.

Awesome! I know it's the name of a Disney princess, but that name sounds so much more masculine to me. Bri is such a cute nickname.

Actually, Sleeping Beauty's name has pretty much ALWAYS been Brier Rose. Not a Disney invention, which is awesome.

Anywho, I've always thought it was odd on a girl anyway, ha. I like it for either.
I'm not feeling incredibly profound at the moment. Check back later.
