I love Caroline a bit more than Charlotte right now, only because it's refreshing after Charlotte has been so oversaturated in the last decade. At least from my perspective. Caroline is on the comeback though, it seems.

Caroline. I never liked the name Charlotte, but Caroline is lovely, lyrical.

I personally prefer Caroline. Charlotte is nice, but to my ears, Caroline sounds better.

I know several babies named Caroline, but no Charlottes. I love Charlotte. I think it's elegant and classic

I always think of Charlotte as the mature, and stunning older sister, whereas Caroline is the whiny, little sister.

Caroline gets lost in the sea of -line's:

    Eline
    Emmeline
    Evangeline
    Faline
    Gwendoline
    Jacqueline
    Madeline
    Marcheline
    Rosaline

    , and -ine's:

    Capucine

    Charmaine
    Clementine
    Eglantine
    Elaine
    Eponine
    Fantine
    Florentine
    Francine

    Whereas Charlotte stands apart.

I also prefer Charlotte's nicknames: Charlie, Lottie, Arlo, Harlow. I don't mind Caroline's nickname (Caro), but it's very limited.
