    Thinking about a name.

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to this site, and I'm wondering about something. My name's Nina, (actually, I want people to call me with a other name.. I don't really like my name so much).

I'm from the Czech Republic, (I's born here, but I'm Asian). I'm still a student, (and I really don't like my name so much). I wanted to search for an new nice name, English one. Some, that could fit my personality. (It doesn't have to fix. :3).
I'm not an "emo" freak. I like cute thingies, even, I'm small, and trying my best in all ways. I'm athletic, not really smart. I'm not really popular, people do like me(at least I think so), I don't really care what other people think about me, I want to be myself. My favourite colour is black, white, green, yellow and violet. My dream is to be a lawyer, or an artist. I'm not really someone who wants to get a bunch of attention, but I like to help others. Sometimes, I'm really stubborn. I always compare myself with someone else, like "how beautiful she is", and "why am I so ugly".. I've a lot of friends, but I'd rather enjoy my free time sometimes. :3. (I'm a lazy bee).

I hope that this description is enough. c:

    Thank you~!
    -Nina. xo

I think Nina fits you well based on that description. I've known several girls named Nina and I wouldn't consider it non-English as it's used pretty regularly in the US.

Is Nina short for something? Nadine, Nanette, etc?

Changing your name can be a big hassle, personally and legally. I'd suggest picking something similar to Nina and just "going by" that name for awhile to be sure it's a good decision.

Eleanor - lots of nn options here and you could conceivably use Nina as well as Ellie, Nora, Lea, Lena, Nelly, etc.
Alexandra - same as Eleanor, lots of nn's - Alex, Lexi, Andy, Xandy, Landy, etc.
    Caroline - Cari, Cara, Lina,
    Georgina - Gigi, Gina, Rina
    Olivia/Livia/Livy/Liv : Thessaly/Darah/Bethel : Noelle/Eve
    Benedict/Eli: Jude/Zane: Luke/Darius : Levi/Phineas/Calvin

I think Nina is a beautiful name!! . You should celebrate your differences from others. One day hopefully you will love your name as much as you love yourself. Enjoy being young and enjoy your life :-).

I love the name Nina! It is sweet and spunky, and I imagine a Nina as creative and independent.
    Some current considerations:

Cora Madeleine | Etta Rosalie | Hazel Miranda | Margot Eliza | Sylvie Coraline | Vivienne Esme
Archer Daniel | Callum Sawyer | Emmett Sebastian | Ezra Byrne | Leo Vincent | Rhys Anderson
