As a southern girl myself I've always felt like family names feel very southern. I was raised with the mantra "southerners never name their children Scarlett or Rhett...they have their own southern histories to use." While that's not entirely true anymore, at least for Scarlett, I still love looking to unique family surnames for girl names. I know girls named Murray, Forsythe, Carlton, Emerick, Livingston, Baker and Fielding. And then double names like Anne Rob, Mary Owen, Ann Almon, and Mary Wells, all of which honor a family member.

If you're looking for something more generic, I always think frilly "hoop skirt" names feel very southern.
    Annabelle
    Adele
    Caroline
    Virginia
    Juliane
    Susannah
    Alexandra
    Charlotte

Some more generic double names I've been hearing are:
    Anna Kate
    Ella Grace
    Anna Beth
    Ann Claire
    Sarah Mae
    Mary Elizabeth

    Just remember...no hyphens!
