    Is Thisbe too tragic?

I believe this name originated from the Ovid's "Pyramus and Thisbe" which is similar to "Romeo and Juliet". Do you think this association is too negative? Does it give the name a bad image and make it unusable?

If it's o.k. to use Juliet...I don't see why Thisbe can't be used. It sounds lovely and lyrical.

Thisbe is a lovely name and also one of my name crushes!

    I think it's definitely usable.

I'm not familiar with Thisbe's history, but if it was used in a Romeo and Juliet esque story, I think it's okay. Juliet is very popular, and Romeo has been frequently. Plus, I think it's obscure enough that people won't catch on right away that it has a tragic history.
I think it's a lovely name, and if you want to use it, then do it.
