    North, West, South and East

I've got a story going about a world kept going by the circumdabit punctis, who are the people in charge of the compass points. The most important people are the North, the West, the South and the East. The North by North East isn't that important. The circumdabit punctis are changed every twenty eight years, ( one every seven years). Unfortunaly, they have all been killed by the Rock and the Scorpion. The heirs to the circumdabit punctis are in their early teens, but still take on their roles.

North, West are male, and South is a girl, but I'm not too sure about East yet. I don't want their names to be the compass points, but sort of based on them e.g the West is 'Westley'.

I also need to know: Are Scorpio and Lapis alright for villains?

On 20000-names.com, there's a subcategory called "directional names," only some of which include names that specifically mean or include east, west, etc.(there's many more that are vague such as 'upwards' or 'descending'). I scanned the list and pulled out the ones I thought were the best (for east, I included female, male and unisex names since you're undecided):

Asia - means "east" (apparently, in Assyrian)
Aston - means "east" or "eastern settlement"
Anatole/Anatola - means "east" or "sunrise"
    Purva - means "east"
Rilinda - means "east" among others
    Cadmus/Kadmos - means "the east"
    Ekialde - means "east"
    Easton - "eastern settlement"

Hurley - means "lord of the west"
Iarlaith/Jarlaith - means "lord of the west"
    Mendebal - means "west"
    Wesley/Westley - means "western meadow"
Weston - means "west," "western settlement"
    Zephyr/Zephryos - "west wind"

    Dimona - means "south"
    Teman/Teyman - means "south"

Biti - means "king of the north"
    Ipar - means "north"
Norm/Norma/Norman/Normun/Normund/et. al. - means "north", "northman", "north protection"

You could also just go the classic route and just call them by their names, North, West, etc. It'd sound better than resorting to made-up names like Northington or Southia just to get their direction in their name.

Scorpio and Lapis are okay, if Scorpio seeming a tad obvious, but without knowing much about the character, it's hard to say.

I really love Lapis as a villain name, I am neutral in regards to Scorpio.

This site has a lot of good names:

“I read books when I was a kid, lots of books. Books always seemed like magic to me. They took you to the most amazing places. When I got older, I realized I couldn't find books that took me to all the places I wanted to go. To go to those places, I had to write some books myself.”
