    I know an Alby, I think it can stand well on its own. If you don't love the full name I would suggest just using Alby. @basicsand said it could sounds cute on a diploma or resume, but this baby will be born into a generation full of cute names. So don't worry about it.

    my dad's middle name is albin...

    I had a dog named Albie named after Albert Einstein and when he was in trouble we called him "Albert!"

    I like Archie better for a human name.

    Son of the Mask? Anyone? Albie Avery? I think it can stand alone, in large part because of this movie. It's a good NN for Albert or Albin.
