Renaming Eastern European, male
I'm having difficulty naming a secondary character of mine. The book is a retelling of Rapunzel, but takes place in the future.
The character is male, late teens/early 20s, something of a prodigy, of Eastern European heritage, quiet and mildly antisocial, but can be hot-tempered about subjects he's passionate about.
I had temporarily set his name as Tesla, after the inventor, but after reconsidering, I'm afraid too many people will associate the name with the car as opposed to the person.
So now I'm just looking for Russian or Eastern European names. Among the candidates are: Fyodor, Dimitri, Mischa, Nikolai and Vitaly. I'm not sure which, if any, suit him. Help?

My first thought was Dmitri, both before clicking on the thread and after reading about the character.** The opinions expressed above are not meant to be reflective of Nameberry as a whole but are my opinion and mine alone. **
Henry Nathaniel (3) and Julia Paige (1)
Bennett - Emmett - Felix - Oliver - Owen - Preston - Samuel
Abigail - Claire - Clara - Hope - Lydia - Maude - Molly

I quite like Lovrenc, Shura or Ilarion but I'm not really sure. Sorry for being so unhelpful! Good luck.

One of my favorite Russian names is Arkady. I'll list a few names that are Russian, and a few that are from various Eastern European countries. Hope this'll help!
