    I grew up with a close friend who was nay-OH-mee. Her husband even calls her "Nay" for short.

    Almost everyone pronounced it that way, but some people got stuck on the "NIGH-oh-mee" version.

    I always said nay-oh-mee, until a friend of mine named his daughter Naomi but pronounces it nye-oh-mee, so now thats what I'm used to saying. I think I would assume nay-oh-mee if I saw it written down, though.
