Well, do they have a heritage? They sound American, so standard American surnames would work.
I tend to look up surnames and pick something that sounds like the family. Or I make something up that's completely random. Occasionally, I steal from other books and tweak it.I'm not feeling incredibly profound at the moment. Check back later.
