    Thanks so much! I was leaning toward Ava and this was really reassuring. I love Harper but I feel it's a bit masculine, especially with our last name. Thanks again

    I like Ava more. I've always loved Harper and was on our short list with each of our boys if one of them had been a girl, but after Milo was born my SIL named her daughter Harper so it became unusable for us. Ava Elizabeth sounds gorgeous!

    Ava is much more elegant, classy, and timeless than Harper — a new "celebrity/trendy" name that is rising quickly in popularity, will probably fade fast, and will become dated in a few years.

    It also gives you more versatility when it comes to nicknames. Harp and Harpie are quite awful.
