I don't think it's wimpy at all! Granted, I prefer Frances on a girl, but it wouldn't kill me to see Francis on a boy. If the 'wimpy' quality possibility bothers you, there's always Frank, Franklin, or Franco.

I like Frances, but I don't really think it's "wimpy" as such. Since that is the name of a saint, how about some other saint names? Here are some ideas, not all names of saints, but some that have roughly the same feeling of Frances.

    How about:
    Frederick
    Seamus
    Benedict
    Patrick
    Franz
    Phillip
    XOXO Whillemina
    Crazy and Happy Name-Obsessed Teen
    Faves
    Kirrily, Rosalind, Tamsin, Josephine

Thanks for the input everyone! I'm printing out your suggestions/comments just to bring it up to DH in the event we have a little boy. I'm nervous because it could be any day now and still no definate boy name!

I like Francis on a boy well enough I think I've always associated it with a girl as my sister is called Frances, she goes by Frankie. I plan to use Frances as a middle name to honor the pope and her. I like it a lot.
