    Question Character Name...Help me!

In my book, there's a very minor character who really needs a name.
In the story, there are schools kind of like colleges that are very specialized in certain areas of expertise. These are called the Academies. There are Academies for warriors, spies, and assassins, and others for healing and tracking and stuff like that.
There's a healing Academy that takes the main character (who was wounded) in to help her. I need a name for one of the teachers at the Academy.
    The teacher:
She's very skilled at healing superficial wounds, but not deep, life threatening wounds. Like bruises, scrapes, cuts, etc. She's good with teaching, is very strict, but nice. She's in her mid-fifties, possibly very early sixties, with gray hair that's always in a bun. She is gentle, but isn't "sweet", necessarily. She's the nice librarian who knows every book and will help you find what you're looking for, but the second you say anything loudly in the library, she's the one shooting you the unforgiving, dagger-sharp glare. (She's not really a librarian; that was figurative.)
Anyhow, I hope you understand what I mean. She's nice, but gets really strict really fast. She can hold a grudge. She doesn't have a sense of humor. I hope that kind of sort of made sense.

Anyways, names. Some names I have are:
    Cordelia
    Helen

Neither fit all that well, so I'm hoping for suggestions.

(Right now, I'll warn you, don't suggest Agnes. That will never happen. No matter how much you picture her as an Agnes, I don't want to here about it. Sorry to all those Agnes's out there, but I highly dislike that name)

At least wait a day before you bump your thread, jeeze...

    Anyway, here's what I see:

    Gloria
    Yvonne
    Jessica
    Wilhelmina
    Bronwen
    Dierdre
    Charity
    Joyce
    Orielle
    Francesca
    Frances
    Theresa

What are some other names in your book? I seem to recall it being futuristic/distopia/fantasy, but I don't remember what style you're after for names.
I'm not feeling incredibly profound at the moment. Check back later.

Haha. Yar! I sort of badly want to be a mod for this board so I can implement some rules to make it work a little better/have people be better satisfied with it "-_-

    Anyway, to the question!

What other names are in the story already so we don't repeat them? Also, what style of names are we going for? Regular modern ones?

The first name I thought of was Helen and then Minerva as she sort of sounds like McGonagall. With that in mind:

    Athena
    Ida
    Dorcas
    Alma
    Eudora
    Sybil
    Virginia
    ~Boys~

Jory Leander Atticus, August Eli Benedict, Casimir Mordecai Stewart,
Edmond John Meirion, Horatio Ethell Emery, Bram William Jasper,
Julian Remy Charles, Vasiliy Lochlan Michael.

    ~Girls~

Aira Rose ___, Eleni Fiorella Charlotte, Sylvia Sayuri Noor,
Merit Eleanora Adelaide, Clover Elodie Seraphine, Bridie Scarlett Viola,
Marguerite Cecilia Iris, Eilidh Clara Valentine.

Sorry to anyone who read TSI. First draft was terrible. Second drafting now.

I like Theresa as well. Other ideas -

    Jane
    Eleanor
    Margaret
    Virginia
    Kathryn
    Marian/Marion
    Cecilia
Agatha (okay, I realise this is probably not your style, but had to put it out there. feel free to use capslock at me.)
I have no idea why - maybe it's the age - but this character really screams 'classic names' to me, so...

Your idea is great! Good luck!
