Thank you for the feedback, essjay! You made some great points that are helping me think through my list more critically. You are right about Eliora. It is a tad frilly, which isn't really my style. I think I prefer Eliora as a middle name and Eleni as a first. Great point about Kenyon too! I hadn't thought of that.

    Boys:
Simeon or Gideon?- Gideon, Simeon makes me think of simian ("higher primates")
Gideon or Gable?- Gideon again, Gable is too Clark to me
Malachi or Mordecai?- Malachi is jaunty, Mordecai reminds me of the word morbid
Hugh or Hugo?- Hugo! I love the o ending
Cobalt or Roan?- Roan, Cobalt is nms
Will or Shale?- Will, but I prefer William, I'm surprised I like Shale though, I'm not usually that into mineral/metal names for boys but this is nice

    Girls:
Willa or Della?- Willa, one of my faves
Willa or Willow?- again, Willa, Willow feels more trendy
Adelaide or Adeline?- Adelaide, it's underused
Lilac or Lark?- I like both as middles
Fern or Wren?- This is tough, I love the sweetness of Fern
Moriah or Sarai?- neither are my style
Melora or Moriah?- Melora has a fresher feel to me
Marilla or Marcella?- Marilla! I've loved this name ever since I was a girl reading Anne of Green Gables
Cadence or Carys?- Carys, no contest
Ruby or Pearl?- I love both, one is sassy the other sweet, I guess I have to go with Pearl
    Delaney or Connelly? -nms
Eliora or Eleni (prn. Ah-LAY-knee)?- Eliora
Annika or Azalea?- Annika, Azalea is harder for me to prn.
Verity or Vivienne?- Verity, I prefer Vivian to Vivienne (still to Brangelina to me though it is beautiful)
Eliza or Elsa?- Eliza is one of my favorites, Elsa is sweet

@kashed22: ooh, looks like we have a similar style in a lot of ways. That is cool that you like Shale! I don't like mineral/metal names either, but when I came across Shale I really liked it. Also, it is nice to find someone who likes Marilla.
