    If you met boys...

...who introduced themselves as Luke and Jake, would you assume their names were short for Lucas and Jacob?

I like Luke and Jake so much better than Lucas and Jacob, and while I know they're perfectly legit as names, with the popularity of the longer forms I wouldn't want people assuming their names were nicknames for names I'm not all that keen on.

Also are they too close for brothers, and if so, which do you prefer?

    Anna Katherine * Lydia Ellen * Zoe Madeleine * Phoebe ___ * Imogen ___ * Emilia ___
    Samuel * Thomas * Charlie * Reuben * Oliver * George

I would never assume Luke was short for anything as it's not a nickname, but I would think Jake was really a Jacob. I think they're really sweet together as brothers- similar but distinctive. If I had to choose one it'd be Luke

I'd just think that Luke and Jake were their actual first names.
