Well I know a little girl Darcey (10 months) whose mum had a bit of a shock to find 2 or 3 other Darcy/Darcey/Darcies in her baby class. All girls. This is in NW England, so it's popularity may be regional. I think the spellings combined put it about the 70s in England, and about the same in NI, where I am originally from.
HOWEVER, I'm not trying to dissuade you from using Darcy for a boy. Rather, I'm just trying to prove my point that, despite this, I still see Darcy as a boy's name. It's never quite sat right on a girl for me, even the little Darcey who I mentioned previously, even though she's a darling. As you can see, Darcy remains on my list (below) despite all of this. So I think you should use it! Darcy Thomas is handsome and dashing. =DMy furry darlings ~ Bodie the border terrier & Portia and Penny the guinea pigs
