Honestly, I had no idea that melena was a medical term for black tarry poop...and I doubt many others do as well.

I've seen far worse names used.

Oh gosh, that is a real downer! I think Milena is still lovely though..

    Mila
    Amelie "Millie"
Millie (could be used on its own)
    Melinda
    Millicent
    Alena
    Lena
    Catalina
    Helena
    Magdalene/a
    Shalena
    Malin

I found Shalena and Malin on different sites. I guess Malin's finnish and Shalena's russian? or maybe it was the name next to it.. I x'd out the page too quick hehe. None of them are the same, but they have similar sounds too them... You could even use Mila Catalina or something and as a whole the name would kinda be there... WDYT? Lemme know and maybe I can try suggesting other names if you don't love any <3

    You could consider Melina.
Except Melina is how Melena is pronounced.

But I agree with those who say it's non-issue. It's rare medical term, pronounced differently and first association will be Mila Kunis. And I heard about Melena and that still doesn't bother me.
Sorry for bad English, I am from other country

I have never heard that term before. To me, Milena is the Russian word for raspberry. I think it's a sweet name.

I'm in the medical field, and we do make the association. Sorry.
