    Full name for "Getty"

I'm not sure where he got it, but my husband has long loved the name Getty for a son. The poor guy ended up with me, though, so before he can live out that particular fantasy I need to know if there are proper, full name, options that could be nicknamed Getty. You all are about 150% more qualified to find that than I am; as far as I got was, well, it kind of sounds like Geoffrey, or Gretchen, which would be unfortunate on a boy.

Any ideas? I don't mind if they're a little far-fetched, it's all worth looking at.

The first one that comes to mind is Garrett or Gareth. Maybe Grant or Gilette?

    For a stretch-

    George
    Gerald
    Gerard
    Garrison
    Gentry
    Gerhardt
    Gilbert
    Griffeth

I'll update if I think of any more.

I like Gilbert (though I prefer the nickname Gill), but if we ever used it our families would laugh us out of town. I'll ask him about Gerhardt because that seems sort of old-fashioned, but surname-trendy enough to not be a jokey name (*Well, it's still pretty jokey)...

That's the first name that popped into my head when I saw this thread. Love it! Getty makes me think of the museum, and I agree, there could be some real teasing potential involving spaghetti.
