I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but how about Brennan? I have loved this name on a girl for years, but have never heard it used before. Also maybe....
Scout (has literature reference)
Griffin (I knew a girl named Griffin once)

I saw that Tristan was mentioned and I've always thought this would make a nice girl name. It's so commonly used for boys nowadays that I'm not sure if it works, but I like the variation Tristian as an option. These may have already been mentioned, but Jules, Arvin, August, Seneca, Tarquin and Andreas are other ideas.

@jyoti, Yes I would consider unisex names, I consider all the names on my list to be unisex.
@freya55, I love Arlo but my husband is not too fond of it, thinks it sounds "simple."
@ottilie, Whoa what a list! Ok, I like Aylwin, Daron, Elon, Ember, Garnet, Ilan, Marin, Marinell, Meirion, and Reasmay (never even heard this name before!) I really enjoy names like these and love to daydream but I'm not sure if I could actually use one. I want the name to be at least somewhat recognizable. If you told the average North Carolinian your daughter was named Loxias or Seraphim, they would treat you like an alien that just beamed down from Mars. I get stunned looks when I tell people Rowan's name.
@sugarplumfairy, I love Alix and Emery but Alix is too close to Alex which is mega popular. Emery has the same first syllable as our surname.
@mummamelof5, I do like Tiernan but I just don't love it. Thanks!
@seazuno86, I actually adore Willoughby but the nickname would of course be Will and my husband's name is William (Will)
@mclevine, Marion is on my middle name list. And I've never read the Poe story about Asher. You don't mean Usher? My cherished daughter, Rowan Jane. ~b. 10/2011~
