If long is an issue, Persephone isn't the answer. Just saying. Eve I like, though. Iris, too. They fit the criteria, and they aren't too long.
Astrid. I like it. Not girly, though, if that's what you want.
Cassidy; not too girly, not too...ummm....guy-y???
Ivy: my ultimate favorite. I've always loved the name Ivy, and I think your character can put the name to good use.
On to the issue of your anti-dumb-jock, strong name.
I like Griffin a lot. Raffin is similar but more unusual.
If you like Griffin, stick with it. It's a great name, and Griffin, Ivy (I really love that name), Wren, Emerson, and Livia sound good together.
My top picks for your two name requests are Griffin and Ivy, but if you aren't happy with Griffin, I have more names.
Wyatt“I read books when I was a kid, lots of books. Books always seemed like magic to me. They took you to the most amazing places. When I got older, I realized I couldn't find books that took me to all the places I wanted to go. To go to those places, I had to write some books myself.”
