My husband likes western place names, so he'd probably like Montana. I like Jana, but he hated that. He's been pushing for names with 4+ syllables, and doesn't understand why that would be a mouthful when combined with a long last name.. Oh well...we have an agreement that he picks the boys' names and I pick the girls' names, so I get the final say. ...even though I was trying to pick something that he doesn't despise.

Susannah and Annora are my favorites from your list.

    How about:

    Johanna Mae - nn Annie
Rosemary - nn Mae or Romy
Marianne - nn Mae or Annie
    Ann Marie - nn Annie

Thinking about names that can use Annie or Mae as nicknames I came up with these:

    Annora (which you already listed)
    Annika
    Annabel
    Anais
    Susannah (another you've listed)

    Magnolia
    Margaret
    Margo
    Marion
    Marian
    Mabel
Mae- I think this is so sweet and vintage even on its own!

Out of your choices I love Susannah, Carolina, Violet, Marin, and Annora
