    Dimitri needs a nickname!

Our little boy is 2 months old and as much as I ADORE his name, Dimitri David, everyone is going crazy trying to find a decent nickname for him. Apparently Dimitri is too much of a mouth full for some Americans On seperate occasions I have over heard both sides of our family discussing possible nicknames for him since Dimitri is so hard...ugh. I insist that his name is Dimitri and he doesn't need a nickname, but my family has taken it in their own hands now and are calling him "Double D" which according to my older brother who coined it, is the best break dancing name ever, lol. Unfortunately, I am not fond of my son being referred to as a bra size. I want to have a ready nickname to offer anyone who ever tries calling him this again.

I've tried calling him Mitri, Petrie (Land Before Time, anyone?), Tri (tree), Dima, and Dimas. I'm leaning toward Dima since it's the most natural fit considering that is the "official" Russian nickname for Dimitri. I have also tried calling him "D" but it doesn't work since we have a popular aunt named Dee.

What are your opinions? Do you find any of those cuter than others? Can you think of anything else?

I think Dima comes most naturally, but also looks a little... feminine in my opinion. May i suggest Trey, as in tri->trio->Trey? I know someone with a similar name who goes by this.
Right Now I would name them...
    ∆ Ellis Apollo • Vesper Aurelia ∆

    ∆ Casper Aloysius • Reverie Antonia ∆

Mitri would probably come most naturally to me, but if Dima is what's traditionally used I'd go with that.

I think Tri (tree) would be cute.

    Deeter would also be fun.

I love Dimitri and definitely don't think it needs a nn! I don't see how it's a mouth full at all.
