    Thoughts on Electra?

The name Electra/Elektra came up on my post soliciting suggestions for a sister to a boy name Atlas. I immediately fell in love. Electra! Strong, spunky, mythic, feminine, elegant, a perfect pair with Atlas.

Then again, I don't see Electra suggested very much on name sites. Is she just obscure, or are the tragic and Freudian connotations enough to put people off? Is Electra usable?

    Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Matilda Sailor or Faye Matilda | Sylvie Winifred or Simon Atlas | Atlas Dov or Alice Violetta | Lucien Wilde or Lucinda Jane | Jane Lucinda or Jack Marlowe | Marlowe Charles or Roscoe Thomas | Charles ' Charlie' Wallace or Marigold 'Maggie' Wynn | Eloise Lily or Elliot Darwin | Iris Cordelia or Thea Marina | Jasper Augustus or Juniper 'June' Lovelace | Julian Felix or Judah 'Jude' Reeve

I love Electra! You're right, it isn't around much, but I don't think it's her Freudian connections, I think people find it obscure. Why? I don't know, because like you said, she's powerful, mythical, and well, electric

I like the sound of the name but unfortunately when I hear it I think of strippers for some reason. I hope that dosnt sound rude because I'm not trying to be, it's just certain names make me think of certain types of people.

I feel like some names just fall through the cracks. Mara, for instance, is a perfectly sweet and lovely name that checks so many Nameberry boxes, yet I rarely see it get mentioned or recommended.
