Going to try to do this in the same format as the girls. I'll try not to go too overboard, but I do love boy names....

    FN Loves:
    Auberon - oooooh LOVE IT
    Aurelian
    Casimir
Endymion - still my number one, by far
    Evander
    Herne
    Leonidas
    Lucius
    Orpheus
    Ptolemy
    Rainier
    Roderick
    Sylvan

    FN Likes but not Loves:
    Cyrus
    Faramond
    Gawain
    Hadrian
    Isidore
    Lothair
    Perseus
    Romulus

    Veto Points:
Hector - you know I've always had a beef with Hector...besides being so strongly Hispanic, the name itself is so similar to words like "heckler" that I find it unattractive. You have sooooo many more amazing options that you don't need Hector
Laszlo - aside from the horrific children's show about Camp Lazlo, the "lazy" association is unfortunate

    Normal Middles
    Antony
    Damon
    Ferdinand
    Gareth
    Hugh
Odin - in the normal category by virtue of being a famous and widely known diety
    Oliver
    Osiris - see Odin
    Perseus - see Odin
    Robin
    Sebastian
    Thor - see Odin
    Xavier

    Not Normal Middles:
    Altair
    Arion
    Basil
    Bayard
    Calidore
Dragan - I have to say, I love how such a craggy, masculine, draconic name can mean something as gentle and heartwarming as "dear one" and "precious"
    Faulkner
    Grenfell
    Idris
    Ivo
    Lodestar
    Lorien
    Loxias
    Ranulph
    Shasta
    Sigurd
    Taliesin
    Tiberius
Valemon - I LOVE this fairytale! May I also recommend Iorek? I believe Iorek Byrnison and the rest of Pullman's panserbjorne were obliquely inspired by the White Bear King.

    Veto Points for Middles:
Bors - surprised to see this on your list...it doesn't strike you as a thuggish sort of name?
Cato - women's clothing store, Inspector Clouseau's ninja foil, and an increasingly popular Hunger Games character...you have far lovelier options
Eglamour - I am immediately reminded of Deadweather and Sunrise, in which the siblings are named Adonis, Venus, and Eggbert. Aphrodite and Eglamour? Darling, you can't.
Finvarra - while I love his connection to the Daoine Sidhe, there is the whole king of the dead thing...and this name is becoming increasingly popular for girls. Perhaps an alternate link to the Tuatha de Danann, like Nuada, Fiachra, Nemed, Dagda, Lugh, or Delbaeth?
Lawrence - of Arabia? You can do better
Mordred - the bastard half-son of Arthur by his sister the sorceress who grows up to bring about the end of Camelot (and whose name sounds like mold and dread and death) ....why....?
Tresillian - all I can find on this is that it's a tiny village in Cornwall and a widely popular birthing center...unless there's some other special significance, I'd go with some of your other options
Vladimir - how Russian of you! I can't remember, is there Russian blood in the family? If not, this one seems a bit out of place.

be back later with some combos!
Zion Nathaniel ~ Solomon Fable ~ Balthazar Wolf ~ Malachi Sparrow nn Kai ~ Tobias Rowan ~ Caspian _____
Alice Willow ~ Ophelia Wren ~ Juliet Snow ~ Lucia Pearl ~ Eve Wisteria nn Evie ~ Cosima Rose ~ River Seraphine ~ Elowen Briar

    GPs
Narnia Rose, Astoria nn Story, Illyria, Serafina, Soraya, Faerydae
Orion Melchior North, Tobias Loki, Edmund, Frost, Oberon, Kenshin, Remiel, Atreyu

Auberon - Love this for you, especially with the Au. Feels Autumnal.
    Aurelian - Love.
    Casimir - Yes.
Cyrus - I have a personal vendetta against Cyrus, but it’s a beautiful name anyway.
Endymion - Please please. This would be to die for with Aphrodite.
    Evander - Lovely.
    Faramond - Oh yes.
Gawain - Yes yes yes! Ok I’ll stop before DH starts getting jealous.
    Hadrian - Uh huh.
    Hector - Great
Herne - Oh this one makes my heart flutter.
Isidore - Love Isidore, but it’s a little too gentle next to Aphrodite imo.
    Laszlo - shazamm! Yes!
    Leonidas - ooh la la.
Lothair - Like the Disraeli novel? Some good names to be had there: ladies Corisande and Arundel, and the dandy Phoebus. Tancred and Iskandar are good names too. Lothair is kinda close to “lothario” though.
Lucius - Really sweet, but I prefer it in the middle.
Orpheus - One-man-name, but so is Aphrodite.
    Perseus - Beautiful.
    Ptolemy - Pno.
Rainier - Yes. Love that it honors your grandfather. Must use somewhere.
Roderick - Can’t get past rod.
Romulus - Kind of fabulous, but there will be breast-feeding jokes.
Sylvan - Too delicate next to Aphrodite imo, but nice as a middle name.

Middles I'd nix (sorry, not commenting on all the great ones for now):

Arion - No way. Aryan “master-race” and all that.
Bors - borscht? bores us to death? bores a hole in a boar’s head?
Cato - Kato Kaelin. But maybe not an association in the UK.
Dragan - Actually, I take it back. I could get behind Dragan as a middle name. Dragana for a girl’s middle?
Faulkner - Perhaps in England the falconer association is stronger? Here I think most people would assume you were just a big Faulkner fan. Not a bad thing, just seems a bit much, unless you’re related to the man.
Hugh - Hewelet is a pretty sweet nick, and medieval to boot. Hugh doesn’t do it for me though. I like the Hewe spelling. And Hugo. Hale is good too.
Lodestar - Roderick Lodestar, porn name extraordinaire.
Mordred - Despite great Arthurian assoc, this one’s too close to “morbid.”
Osiris - Lovely sounding name. A bit mournful for a human boy, but good if you’re green and dead and wearing a hat like a bowling pin.
Shasta - Mount Shasta, root beer.. good associations. A bit feminine, but not insurmountably so. Seems random to me. What made you think of Shasta?
Vladimir - Putin Putin Putin, impale impale impale.

I have to say how excited I am to be here for this! Congratulations!!! I read as much as I could of the naming odyssey for Roo and I love your naming style. Seeing my new love, Roderick, on your list makes me feel even better about the name. I would love your input on our boy's name.

    I love:
Auberon - LOVE this but how do you feel about 2 A names?
    Endymion - Gorgeous! Exquisite!
Orpheus - a very smoky, exotic name
Roderick - maybe a little normal compared to the rest of the list but my personal favorite
Perseus - I think the eus ending must strike a note with me. Love this too!

My fave from the MN list has to be Bayard! I also love Lorien and Tiberius.

    Endymion Bayard Roderick
    Roderick Lorien Tiberius
    Perseus Bayard Auberon

I am so not good at this!

    Evander Tibereus/Perseus Robin
    Gawain Taliesin Thor
Hadrian (I don't think I've ever heard this name before, but it's fantastic) Basil Eglamour
    Hector Lawrence Odin
    Orpheus Sebastian Altair
    Roderick Antony Osiris
    Romulus Ferdinand Sigurd
    Perseus Gareth Faulkner
    Sylvan(!) Taliesin Basil

I love the name Idris but I love it for a girl. Call me crazy or a devoted Doctor Who fan but Idris feels feminine to me!

Again, good luck! You've got a sweet list there. My personal favourite is Lucius!
