I think he would be called Hammy by his classmates. I mean, if he'd be a jokester, he could pull it off and become the cool kid. But if he's shy he might discourage him. But if you like the name, go for it! I'm sure his future classmates may have crazier names.

Other names that are similar to Hamilton:

    - Hamish (hay-mish)
    - Remington
    - Kingston
    - Hamill
    - Hamlet
    - Hillier?
    - Pretty much any name ending in -ton

    I'm sorry if I wasn't very helpful.

I think Hammie is cute! But perhaps his classmates wouldn't and little Hammy would get heartily sick of pig jokes/sounds. Hammie on a baby seems oh-so-adorable to me, though.

Hamilton is the name of the town where I used to live and it's really steeped in family history for me. I've considered using Hamilton as a middle name because of that, but I'm not sure I'd use it as a first name. However, I think it's cute and would make a fine name. I especially love the idea of the nn Milo!

It currently reminds me of gangster Raymond Hamilton, since lately I have been reading about Bonnie and Clyde, he was in their gang. I don't think the name is ba dor good. I think if it's a family name use it .

It makes me think of Hamilton (the pig) on that kids show, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast... Hamilton may be fine, but his nn was Hammy, which I definitely think would be a problem.
