Too close, but Elise would be fine as a middle name.

While I love both Ella and Elise, I definitely agree. Way too close for sisters. As a PP said, Ella could be a nn for Elise.

Yes although to me they sound nothing like. I don't see Ella as a nickname for Elise. It's a paper/print thing. I could see school mixing up transcripts that kind of thing. I also think it's the kind of thing where to you they're different, but friends are like "They named their daughters Ella and Elise. I totally get confused."

They do sound like they could be Duggar sisters if and when someone starts an "E" name family. If you're a Duggar, they're not too close.

    I really like Clarice.
    Good Luck!

For me, they would be too close. I like the idea of Elise as a middle name potential.
moving to new account with username I like more... since we can't just change them

"el-lah" and "ee-lees" sound completely different.
But it's not pronounced 'ee-lees' with a long 'ee' sound at the beginning.

I think they're way too close. It'd be like calling your daughters Sharon and Sharlene.
