Cat is my favorite nickname for Catherine. There's also Cate, Catie, Cathy. I do think Erin could work but it seems like a stretch. If I wanted to call a baby Erin, I would just name her Erin.
Mom to Alexander Patrick (10), Madelyn Esther (7), Genevieve Susan (2), and angel baby Theodore James (stillborn at 37 weeks on February 3, 2014).

Hoping to welcome another little one into our family in 2015.

I agree with the pp about Erin. I think it works alright, and it's all in there, but why not just use Erin? It's its own name.

    For nicknames:

    Cate
    Cat
    Kit
    Kitty
    Cathy
    Cath
    Catie
    Kay
    Wren/ Rin
    Caff
    Catie Did (like the insect)

I agree that Erin is a bit of a stretch simply because it's a well-known name on its own. But for a similar sound, what about Rin or Rinn? That's been my favorite nickname for Catherine for a long time-it's more unique than Cat or Cate or Catie or Cathy, though I think Cate is also adorable. I also know a girl named Kathleen who goes by Kaffey, and I really like it, so Caffey might be a possibility, though I think most people would go, "Did you say Cathy?" until they got used to it. Overall, I say Rin.
