    I really like Augustus. I think it's adorable. Augustine I think could grow on me quickly as well.

    Augustine (Augus-teen) sounds feminine to me.
    Both Augustin and Augustus have more of an emphasis on the 'gus' part and I like that better. I prefer Augustin, but both are nice.

    I say 'teen' for Augustine too, and with that pronunciation it sounds feminine to my ears. I do love August, quite a lot more than Augustin or Augustus. My baby was due last August and we seriously considered Augusta for a girl and I couldn't decide if it was better or worse that she be born in August. The best advice I received was, ignore the baby's birthday and pick the name you love. Just passing that on since you love August too.
    Of the other options, I like Frederick quite a lot. If you use nicknames, Fritz is my favorite.
