Thank you for all the input, I myself have no idea what he means by masculine or what he wants in a name. Probably the most frustrating thing ever. From every ones list the names I like most and think he would like are:
    Saxon
    Forest
    Finn
Flynn- I love Flynn I don't know if he would go for it.
    Porter
    Cyrus
    Silas
    Arden
Archer- Still worried about the nn Archie.
    Stellan

I see Arden as a very unisex name, for what it's worth. I know both boys and girls named Arden.

    Seth
    Daniel
    Bryce
    Bram
    Patrick

Seem "masculine" to me ~ I think I lean toward single syllable as especially male... not sure why!

I really like Silas or Cyrus but our last name begins with SCH and makes the sound of SH. The transition does not work well, what do you guys think? May just be me.

Ive never seen the big deal in the sounds of the first and last name merging or sounding similiar- you could merge any names if you say them fast enough..

my top boy name is Cormac and our last names is similar to Crosby...
