    Ray

Could it work on its own? I really love Ray but unsure whether it would work...

    What do you think?

Also, do you have any full names that could have the NN Ray? I've tried to like Raymond but I can't get on board so I'd love to hear some more!

    Thanks!

I love Ray! I think it could work on its own just fine, but if you want a longer name, Rayner, Rayen, or Raphael might work.

I prefer it as a nn. And it's still kind of an old man name to me- my strongest association is with one of the old coppers in Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes. I know you don't like it but I'd love to meet a little Raymond!

As for other 'Ray' names: Brayden, Gray, Grayson, Murray?

I think Ray could make a solid name, though I do prefer it as a NN.

Our first son's occasional NN is Ray, his full name is Rayhan (ray-hawn), a Sanskrit/Persian ('flower of paradise'), Arabic ('favored by God') and Chinese ('dawning of a good sign') name.

Some other names that bring the NN of Ray:

    Aurelio (ah-ray-lee-o)
    Gratian (gray-shen)
    Rainier (ray-neer)
