The correct pronunciation of Niamh is either Neeve (one syllable) or Nee-iv (two), depending on what part of the country you are from.
I've never heard it pronounced with a short e before, I don't think there's a legitimate pronunciation with a short e.]

I think "nehv" is the American prn used by those who think that prn is better, or never heard Niamh prn correctly. I've only ever heard "neeve."http://www.onceuponatimebabynames.com/

I know a few Niamhs and they all pronounce it "neeve" too
