Strong & Feminine Middle Options Needed!

As everyone probably knows, I like androgynous and even "male" names for girls. But, I do want an obviously feminine middle name (like Jane) for another daughter. My guidelines: Can't be overly frilly, must have a deep history and a "strong" vibe, not too long (3 syllables would be pushing it,) not too common or a "filler" middle like Grace or Elizabeth.

Bonus points if it has a botanical or watery meaning/background.

    Current contenders:

    Faye
    Cora
    Alys (Alice)
    Frances
    Florence
    Flora
    Cordelia
    Eleanor

I've noticed that 1 syllable middles sound the best with most of my first name options, but I can't seem to find any I like. Our last name is 3 syllables and flows like "Anderson" and it's hard to find middles that don't run into it.

First name options for a daughter just for a reminder:

    Sawyer
    Merit
    Asher
    Silas
    Felix
My cherished daughter, Rowan Jane. ~b. 10/2011~

    Sawyer ~ Aven ~ Elowen ~ Sage ~ Eilonwy ~ Eleanor
    Morgan ~ Asher ~ ___ ~ ___ ~ Currently trying to fill the blanks...

Trying for #2 in January 2014.

Pearl seems to fit your description perfectly! Naturey, watery, one syllable, not to frilly but definitely feminine and strong in my eyes!! Sawyer Pearl would be my favourite but I think it flows well with all your first names!
Coral is another pretty watery option...

I really like the suggestion of Claire and Kate for you. Both classic, strong and not frilly.

    Other one syllable names:
    Eve
    Fleur
    Lise
    Nell
Sol - Goddess of the sun.
Tess - I especially like this, maybe because I immediately think of Tess of the d'Urbervilles, and with Jane I think of Jane Eyre.

    Other non one syllable names:
    Betony
    Camille
    Celeste
    Cicely
    Diane
    Elise
    Emily
    Erica
    Estelle
    Gillian
    Giselle
    Hazel
    Helena
    Holly
    Idony
    Jessamine
    Leonie
    Louise
    Marion
    Meline
    Neriner
    Roselle
    Ruby
    Violet
