    Merrigan

I like Irish surnamey names, and I recently found Merrigan and Madigan. Which is your favorite? Opinions? Suggestions? Middles? Thanks!

I have never heard of Merrigan before, but it's really nice. You could use the nn Merri if you wanted too. I also like Madigan, for a nn you could do Maddie!

Merrigan is sweet, but I like Madigan best for a girl. It's a cute surnamey-name, with the (overused) nn Maddie which makes it feel feminine.

These names aren't my style but I prefer the softer sound of Merrigan. I think Madigan is harsh and may be misheard as Madison.
    All the best,

I can't get past the fact that Madigan sounds like "mad again". Merrigan is cute if you don't mind the nn Meri (Mary).
