    Liana?

A friend has recently announced she is consideering naming her daughter Liana. I havn't come across this name irl before and wondered what the Berries thought of it? I can't decide if I like it or not! And how would you pronounce it? I'm thinking it would be Lee-Ahna or would it be Lee-Anna?

    Thanks!

It has a nice sound as lee-AHN-ah, but isn't it some kind of parasitic jungle vine?

I know one girl with this name and she pronounces it Lee-anna. It has never really stood out to me. Sticking two common and short names together just isn't that exciting.

well, it has a lot of company in the sea of letter jumble names including the letters: L-E-N-A-I
    Elena, Alina, Linnea, ad infintium.
It's fine. I'd pronounce it lee-AH-nuh on first sight, but I can see some people preferring le-ANN-uh

I automatically pronounced it Lee-ahn-uh. I've met Leannas which go buy the other pronunciation. Funny what the extra n does for my brain.

It's pretty, a little different but not exciting somehow. If she loves it she should go for it.
