    Everett

How do you pronounce Everett (and please say your general geographic area)? Ev-er-et (3 syllables) or Ev-rett (2 syllables). Also, would you use a nickname for this name? I love nicknames but nothing comes to mind as sounding especially great for Everett.

    Thanks!

Hoping to welcome another little one into our family in 2015.

I say Ev-er-ett, 3 syllables. I'm a nomad who grew up between Boston, Illinois, DC, and S. Texas, then went to college in Utah. I now live in China, and have for a number of years... Mom's from N. Texas, and Dad's from Boston, so I'm a very mixed bag when it comes to pronunciation...

I am from the south and I say it Ev-rhett. However, where I am from you would probably get some Everts in there.

Ev-rhett/Ev-rett (2 syllables) I am from Illinois. You could use Rhett as a nickname, but I agree that one really doesn't come naturally, but when I say it, it is only 2 syllables so maybe someone who says it with 3 would have a better idea.

Thanks! Hubby and I are using different pronunciations and trying to decide what "most people" would use. I appreciate any additional feedback.
