I think Ursula has a better chance of eventually divorcing from the "The Little Mermaid" association than Ariel, actually (I like both names). I love it because it has its own sound without being too outlandish and has a storied history.

Kids will tease each other over everything, but I don't see the teasing becoming nasty/traumatizing just over something like that. If it does bother her (and let's be honest, the vast majority of kids will dislike their names during their adolescence at some point and feel said names don't "fit" them), it seems like the exact sort of name she'd grow to love and appreciate as she gets older.

I absolutely think Ursula is usable. It's unusual without being unknown and it has a smooth, rich sound. It's like fine dark chocolate.
