I have a little Cora so maybe the other names on our short list will help? They were:

    Esme (LOVE this!)
    Ada
    Iris
    Thea
    Alice
    Harriet/Hattie
    Olive

Me too. They're both four letters that pack a punch, utterly distinct from each other but fit together perfectly.

I like all your options save the little-girl nicknames like Emmie. Cora is a cute but grown-up name; in contrast "Emmie" would feel perpetually like the little sister.

Esme is my favourite too! I read through the whole thread and all the amazingsuggestions but Cora and Esme are the perfect match. Esme is sweetly vintage with no frills but very feminine, just like Cora. And, funnily enough, it is almost a smoosh of your original favourites, Elsie and Esme.
