Has your hubby nixed Elias? It is not incredibly common, and it sounds great with Noah. I really love Shepherd, though. I don't think it sounds out there at all. I actually think it sounds distinguished and handsome.

Eli - My nephew's name. I have to say that I really, really dislike it. I have no idea why I associate it with postbellum rural poverty... but I do. Also, this name is quite popular (as are Elijah and Elias). I'd opt for Elias, a more refined option, over Eli.
Shepherd - I also love this name, but it does take some guts. I love the nn Shep.
Jedidiah - Well, all of these depend on your surname. I'm going to break from the pack and declare my love for this name. I know quite a few men with this name (mainly named after ancestors), and I feel like it fits in with the vintage Biblical trend without seeming overly popular. After all, I know a lot of Josiahs, Jonahs, Judahs, Aarons, Isaacs, Calebs, Elijahs, etc. I also love the nn Jed.
Wyatt - Sorry, this is another name I seriously dislike (I actually strongly dislike very few names... but Eli and Wyatt are on that list). It reminds me of Wyatt Earp and gunslinging cowboys... not that nice. Plus, it just has an unappealing sound.

Love both Eli and Wyatt - maybe your husband could go for Elias?
