Gave birth yesterday... Help! Name our son!

    Help!
Ok, gave birth last night, still had not decided on a name! My husband is a Jr, and originally we did not want to do a Third, but he looks so much like his dad, and his dads dad... And this will probably be our only son....
    So...
John R. Gauhn III ( last name pronounced GONE)
Nickname is the issue. I think we want to call him Jacks (Jax?) instead of jack since We believe it sounds better with our last name. Is that nuts? And I also prefer the spelling Jacks. Also crazy?

    Other names we are considering
    James christopher
    William Christopher
    Jackson Christopher
    Brooks Christopher

Other middle name in consideration - Avett, (pronounced A-vet)

We need to know by tonight or tomorrow!!!

    Thank you!

Hi, and congratulations! If your last name is pronounced like GONE, then I would not go with Jacks or Jax, as when you say it out loud, it sounds like "Jack's gone."

John R. Gauhn III is a very handsome name - and I love the nn Jack.

    I also really like William.

I agree with all of this.

I agree completely with kyemsma... Love John R Gauhn III as a name and for its significance. I would also tend to call him Jack, but if you like Jacks for a NN go for it... How often really do you use a NN with the last name anyway? Ps I have the same issue since our last name is Ray

Congrats!! I agree with the above posters, Jacks/Jax does not go with your last name. What about Johnny or JR, or just Jay. From your other choices, my favorite is James Christopher. Good luck!
