I have a daughter India, nicknamed Indie. We have never ever dealt with anything negative and she constantly has people telling her how much they love her name. Like at least every week someone stops her to tell her they love it. She adores her name and it fits her perfectly.

As far as the colonialism thing, our country and culture isn't/wasn't associated with it at all, so no real connection there. Our experience has been completely positive, I can't imagine her as anything else.
