Is there a middle ground between Luca and Magnolia?

I love tomboy, gender neutral, tough girl names. Some of my favorites are Luca, Boden, Charlie (Charlotte), and Marlo (Margaret). My man likes super frilly, girly names like Penelope and Magnolia. Luckily, we aren't planning on starting our family for about 2 more years, but my love of discussing names brings up the topic regularly So far, we just end the conversations with "We better pray for boys!" because we have very similar taste when it comes to boy names lol Anyway, how does a couple find common ground when naming their children when their views on good names are so far apart? Do I just need to spend the next few years trying to get him to agree with me? hehe

I think you should look for really frilly girly names with very tomboy, gender neutral nn's, even if you each have different nn's for her. (Maybe yours can be the official nn and dad can have his own girlier one). If that would work for you.
Examples: (sorry they aren't fab I tend to like girlier nn's - I think?!)
Penelope - nn Penny (for dad) and Pepe (for mom)
Magnolia - nn Leah (for dad) and Nola (for mom)
Henrietta - nn Etta (for dad) and Harry (for mom)
Josephine - nn Posey (for dad) and Joe/Josie (for mom)
Alexandra - nn Alexa/Lexy (for dad) and Alex/Lex/Zan (for mom)
Felicity - nn Flick or Fliss
    CONSTRUCTION ZONE!!!
maybe Endora, Dexter, Gideon & Lorelei
