Yeah I don't think I like Flo much either.

    Nickname suggestions I've found:

    Floss/ie
    Flora
    Lore
    Lora
    Rennie
    Fry (?!)

I quite like Lora, though it's a stretch. It's a shame Florence doesn't have more nicknames - I like the name and it would honour family for me, but I like to have cute nicknames too.

I like Florence, it was my grandma's name so it is slightly old ladyish to me but in a vintage way and not an"ugly" way. She went by Flossie.

favorite names this week: Jane 🌻 Oren

I don't find Florence old ladyish anymore, probably because I really like Florence Welch and she has become the main association with the name for me. Because it is a place name it feels little more modern to me. I love Florence to be honest. I think it is lovely, and underused. I do worry that it might explode and become trendy and popular. But maybe it won't. I wouldn't use a nickname for Florence. The name is so lovely, it seems like a shame to shorten it. Flo or Flora would be the most intuitive nickname for me.

Love Florence it's very popular here in the UK & definitely not old ladyish. I like the nn Flo but Ren/Flora are great alternatives
