    Berenike, Verenike or Pherenike?

    I prefer the spelling Berenice (I voted for the most similar Berenike but I don't like the "k" and the fact that the brand name of Nike is spelled out in the name).

    Vereneke is a Russian Mennonite dumpling (filled with cheese or fruit)... so that is what these names make me think of! What is the origin? Is it a version of Veronica?
