    Has Mackenzie gone back to the boys?

    I know Mackenzie really started out as a boy name only, then somewhat recently became an extremely popular girls name. I know it is considered pretty "trendy" on nameberry, as are all mac- names (Mackenzie, Mackenna, Mackinley, etc.). Anyway... has Mackenzie gone back to the boys?
    Current Favorites:

    { Everett Cole :: Adam Carson :: Camden Bennett :: Alexander "Xander" Mason :: Aidan Blake :: William "Liam" Anthony }

    I wish. The Mc/Mac prefix literally means "son of," and since a girl is not the son of anybody these names are masculine by definition. Unfortunately the McNames are rabidly popular for girls and have been for a little too long.

    I wish it would too, but there are so many little girls out there with the name Mackenzie, I'm not sure it will ever go back to the boys. Would be nice!

    I wish. It is my second favorite boy name, but it has gone to the girls.

    I really don't think so. I know a lot of girls with Mac/Mc names, but have never met a boy McKenzie.
