Question Nickname help for Malachy or Malcolm

    Hi...

I really like the names Malachy as well as Malcolm but very much dislike the nn MAL which seems to be the most natural for BOTH names!

We speak Spanish at home and MAL means bad....

What other nicknames can you think of for Malachy or Malcolm?

    THANKS!

I knew a Malcolm who used the nn's Colm and Mac. I bet Mac would work for Malachy, too.

Malachi could have the NN 'Kai' (the sound of the last syllable). Think that'd be nice.
Malcolm could have Mac or Colm (Callum is also sometimes used as a NN for Malcolm).
    They could both have 'Al'.

I agree that Mac would make for a nice alterntive nn for both.

Upon looking at the spelling Malachy I pronounce it Malakee(key) or Malachee(cheese) rather than the proper Malachi (kai). I would definitely advise you to use the traditional on that one.
