I too have known a Meir but he's an adult and from Israel. I have a good friend named Jedda (a guy). My nephew is named Lansing Fate. Lansing has actually grown on me. I have a cousin named Riza. I have a classmate from Lesotho whose first name is Ignatius but we all call him by his last name. I think that's cultural for him. I have teachers (a married couple) who have a son in his 30's named Jamin (JAY-min) and their daughter (also 30's) named Brynn. Those are the ones that are coming to mind...

If you were looking for a girl's name, I know a lot of people with very uncommon names. Not as many boys though. Here are a few from my high school:

    Taliesin
    Brick
    Breen
    Leen (pronounced Lane)
