    I say Etta, you say...?

I love Etta. To look at Etta, it's the perfect name to me. It's got spunk, feels neither young or old, and, to me, sparks the image of a smart, young lady. Trouble is, with my Northern England accent, it doesn't sound great, at least to me.

So what would you suggest as something on the same wavelength as Etta? Please and thanks.

I love Etta, Ette, all names ending with Ette are pretty to me! You might like Elle - ending names too?
Does your accent also sound bad with Ette at the end? My suggestions are:

    Betsy
    Belle
    Bernadette
    Odette
    Felice
    Essie
    Ariette
    Maureen

Thanks, rie. By association to the Swan Princess, I love Odette. I don't mind some Elle/Ella-ending names, Estella is one of my favourite names.

    Any more suggestions?

I know an Eva pronounced "eh-vuh" which is a lot like Etta, but obviously has some issues in that it would be pronounced as Ee-vuh all the time. I imagine that it's the "tt" that doesn't come off quite right in your accent, which would apply to any ends-in-etta names? Ella and Etta are often placed side by side, but where Ella is smooth Etta is crisp so hmm, I will try to think up those and throw in some simple spunky ones, at least that I think areā€¦

Etta is a hard one to match! I didn't get too far into nickname territory, but there might be more nicknames that match Etta in feeling. I tried to focus more on tone and sound, as feeling can get super subjective.
