    I much prefer Helena over Helen.

    Prefer Helena. You could chose any pn you like, but I prefer Helen-a pn.

    Also name of Helen of Troy was originally Helene of Troy (I think it's not pn like Helen.)

    Either choice is great, but I prefer Helen since you don't have the pronunciation problem with that one. I know many think Helen is too outdated, but I like the name for its history and many namesakes.

    All three pronunciations are correct.

    I love Helene, but I'd never use it. Too many e's in too little space. Helena is gorgeous.
